Take boat ride on the magnificent Kazinga channel and to Bwindi impenetrable national park to make an eye contact with mountain gorillas in their natural environment.
Details of the Itinerary
Day1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth national park
This trip will start in the morning as you will head to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will make a stopover at the equator the midpoint of planet earth for photography and craft shopping.
Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch. Late in the evening arrive in the Mweya sector where you will get to your lodge for an overnight rest.
Day2: Queen Elizabeth game drive and late afternoon boat ride
At sun rise, you will have breakfast, then go for an adventure of a game drive in the Mweya peninsular as you search for the big wild mammals that is the elephants, leopards, hyenas, oribis, warthog, wild pigs, buffaloes, topis, kobs hert beest and birds as this park has more than 600 species of birds.
In the afternoon, you will have lunch and then embark on a boat ride at the Kazinga channel to feel the sea bliss as you see different aquatic lives like the hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, elephants and buffaloes at the banks of the channel and also variety of water birds like the king fishers, egrets, doves, flamingos and vultures.
Day3: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha sector (tree climbing lions)
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will slope down to Bwindi but as you slope, you will make a stopover at the Ishasha sector to see the tree climbing lions that are very rare to find in this world. You will later proceed to Bwindi and have lunch in Kihihi town. Arrive in the Bwindi region in the evening for a rest at any of your reserved lodge.
Day4: Gorilla trekking
You will wake at dawn head to Bwindi head quarter for briefing that normally takes place at 7:30 am. You will be allocated to your gorilla tracking groups and get to the starting point to get down to the tropical forests in search of the gorillas. You will take 2-6 hour searching for the amazing animals.
However you will forget every challenge you faced while moving through the jungle when you meet the gorillas as this a very captivating experience. You will spend one hour with the gorillas interacting, taking photos and at times young gorillas come towards the trackers to play how lovely that is!
After gorilla trekking, you will get back to your lodge for a meal. In the evening, you may opt to take a community walk to encounter the traditional life of the people around Bwindi.
Day5: Travel back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will travel back to Kampala. Enroute lunch at Mbarara town and reach Kampala in the evening.
